ECOSYSTEM

Ecosystem:

The living and non-living components of any environment make the ecosystem.Various types of ecosystem are found on our earth for example, forest, grassland, ocean, river, pond, snowy areas and desert.

Consumer:

The living thing which obtain their food from other things are called consumer. They cannot make their own food. they depend on plants and other animals are consumers.

Decomposer:

The living things which breakdown the dead bodies of plants and animals into simple components for their food, are called decomposer. Bacteria and fungi are main decomposer.

Balanced Ecosystem:

The Sun is the main source of energy in an ecosystem. the also produces oxygen in this process. this oxygen is used by animals for respiration. during respiration, animals produces carbon dioxide which is used by plants to make food. Such self-sustaining and durable ecosystem is called balanced ecosystem.

All the living things are essential for One another. they affect the lives of one another. some animals benefit or harm One another.

Food chain:

To obtain food living thing despend on one another. Plants make food with the help of carbaon dioxide, sunlight and water. The animals which eat palants are called herbivores, for example rabbit, goat, deer and cow.

The animals which eat other animals are called carnivores, for example lion, tiger, crocodile and shark.

Competition among organisms:

All the organisms living in an ecosystem depend on the resources whic are available in that area.Every area can provide food and palce to a limited number of living thing. The limited resources in an ecosystem complete the living things to compete for food and space. For example,in the grassland all the herbivores compete for grass.

Impacts of human action on food chain in an ecosystem:

In the ancient times ,human action had little impact on their environment. Now a days, there are very visible impact of human beings on environment. After the increase in the population, humans established cities. For this purpose, they cut forests, built roads and factories. These actions polluted the environment and water resources.Human beings did irreversible damage to the ecosystem of the land and ocean.the cutting of forest destroyed the habitats of Wildlife.human being also started unnecessary hunting of animals.becaus of all such activities of human beings many wild organisms have become extinct and many others have becom endangered.
